Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan teaser has been released. Sometimes, you even feel like fighting for him – like, why isn’t he getting more roles? This man can light up every role he plays. But then, he himself said that he doesn’t want to work anymore. He publicly announced his retirement from films. But now there’s news that Vikrant is not leaving films. In fact, he’s bringing a new actor into the film industry with him. Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan – no, I’m not singing a song – that’s the title of Vikrant Massey’s upcoming film.

Just imagine how disappointing that felt. On one side, a masterpiece like 12th Fail, and on the other, a suspense thriller like Haseen Dillruba. Watching films without him just won’t be the same. A short one-minute teaser of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan has been released. Shanaya Kapoor is going to make her debut with this Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan film. Her name has been floating around in the film industry for years. In fact, several filmmakers were fighting over who would introduce her. She hasn’t done a single film yet, but already has four to five movies signed under her name.

The teaser of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan makes the film look like a full-on romantic masala type. Lately, Bollywood is overflowing with love stories, music, and emotional cinema. But this new film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan seems to be not just a little but quite different – because it might just show the impossible love story of two blind people becoming possible. One of them is actually blind, while the other becomes blind in love. You get it, right? A love story with a vibe similar to The Fault in Our Stars.

Now you probably expected that I would say a lot about Shanaya Kapoor, just for entertainment, and maybe start the nepotism debate again. And you’re not completely wrong, because there are many talented actresses who never get a chance in the industry. Even after proving themselves, they disappear after one film. But because of that, why blame Shanaya? Why be angry at her? For now, we’ve only seen a short one-minute teaser. We can’t judge her whole career from that. She looks good in the teaser. Especially with the twist involving a blindfold – it makes her character seem interesting and different.

Still, it would have been better if she had said something in the teaser of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. A couple of romantic dialogues would have helped us understand whether her debut will actually make an impact or not. But what Vikrant says in the teaser sounds a little funny and, for some reason, reminds me of Chetan Bhagat novels. This film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan seems a lot like something out of one of his books. There’s also a pretty good song in the teaser, sung by Vishal Mishra. Not to offend anyone, but if Arijit Singh had sung it, the enjoyment would’ve doubled.

Speaking of enjoyment, it’s not just the actor making a debut – even the film’s director is debuting with this movie. Isn’t that a bit risky? Shanaya madam’s first film choice could be seen as risky. This might sound harsh, but no matter how good the film is, the audience and box office are very unpredictable these days. Filmmakers have to do something really unique to get people out of their homes and into theatres. And somehow, this film might just turn into that kind of “mission impossible.”
