Overview
You’ve probably heard of the Vikram Vedha movie, the one with Vijay Sethupathi. Well, this series comes from the same creators. Vikram Vedha was just a trailer; the real movie is here. Not just Bollywood, Tollywood, or South Indian cinema—this is one of the best suspense thrillers made in all of India. The show doesn’t rely on its name; it has won over fans purely through its storytelling.
If you consider yourself smart and can predict the ending of movies or series, try doing that with Suzhal season 2. If you succeed, we’ll admit you’re a genius.
Now for the best news—Suzhal series is back with Season 2, and believe me, it has left the first part far behind. This time, the suspense is ten times more intense. And the good thing is, even if you haven’t watched Season 1, you can start directly with Suzhal Season 2. Both seasons have different cases that are not connected, except for the characters, but that doesn’t affect the story at all.
On a stormy night, far from the city, at a famous lawyer’s house near the ocean, the police break open a door—and the scene they witness leaves them shaken. A painting on the wall is not made with color but with human blood. And right below it, a human brain is displayed.
The shocking part? All the doors are locked from the inside. The windows are too small for anyone to break in. You’re probably thinking the same thing I am—maybe the lawyer took his own life? His hands are twisted as if he was holding something. Maybe he shot himself. But here’s the twist—the gun is missing. His trigger finger is still in the air as if frozen in time.
And then, the police hear a loud sound. A door inside the house is locked from the outside. Someone behind it is sobbing loudly. When the lock is broken, a girl steps out, holding a gun—aimed directly at the officer standing at the door.
Pause for a second and picture this—there’s a dead man in the house, and a girl was hiding behind a locked door with a gun. The real question is—who locked her inside? Could there be a supernatural element at play?
Before you start solving the case, here’s another twist—the killer has been caught! Or rather, they have turned themselves in. The morning after the murder, in different police stations across the city, seven different girls walk in and confess to killing the lawyer. So, how many killers are there? Seven? No, eight—don’t forget the girl holding the gun, the same gun that blew the lawyer’s brains out.
If you’re enjoying the story so far, get ready—it’s about to go to the next level. The show’s setting and timing play a crucial role. It takes place during the Kali Maa festival, the biggest fair in the city, where thousands gather. The festival showcases Kali Maa’s eight different forms, who unite to defeat a dangerous demon. This is what makes Suzhal stand out from other Indian shows—it seamlessly connects suspense and thrill with a spiritual angle.
And here’s the most shocking part—some scenes are set inside a jail, and they are so realistic, it feels like watching actual CCTV footage. The depiction of female prisoners is incredibly authentic. No matter how much you try, predicting the climax of this show is impossible. Throughout the show, you’ll keep thinking, This murder couldn’t have happened!
But don’t be fooled—Suzhal does have an ending, and it will shock you. Not in a scary way, but in an emotional way. By the time you finish the show, you won’t even realize how quickly you watched all eight episodes. You won’t be able to leave your seat for six straight hours. That’s how gripping Suzhal Season 2 is.
Every little detail is so well thought out that viewers don’t just watch the story; they feel it. It doesn’t matter who the actors or directors are—the story itself is everything. You could gather 100 people, and not one of them would be able to predict the climax, even in their dreams.
This is why it’s important to support shows like Suzhal. The main actors and creators need to understand how crucial a good story is and what impact it can have in theaters. If Drishyam movie is the best in suspense cinema with a killer ending, then Suzhal has done the same for OTT platforms.
The story is outstanding, the climax is mind-blowing, and the casting is perfect. You won’t even doubt for a second how well the actors fit their roles. The way the show integrates the Kali Maa angle is highly creative. The direction by Pushkar-Gayathri is on a different level, and the emotional depth feels completely real.
The only slight drawback is a few action scenes towards the end, which feel too filmy—they could have been skipped or handled differently.
Do yourself a favor and watch Suzhal in one go. The creators may have had fun making the show, but you’ll be even prouder of your own taste in cinema after watching it.
