‘Crazxy’ Movie Trailer Review

Sohum Shah is back with another unique and fresh concept after Tumbbad. I just watched the trailer of his upcoming movie Crazxy (yes, with an extra “X”), and whether that extra “X” turns out to be its X-factor or not, we’ll only know after watching the film. But for now, let’s talk about the trailer.

Overview

The success of Tumbbad during its re-release proved that Sohum Shah is a visionary, and his films are often ahead of their time. His movies eventually gain cult status, and looking at Crazxy movie, it seems like he’s once again bringing something fresh and different to the table.

When the first teaser was released, it featured the line: “Abhimanyu chakravyuh mein phas gaya hai tu” (Abhimanyu, you’re trapped in a maze), which hinted at a character named Abhimanyu Sood being caught in a strange situation. Now, after watching the full trailer, we get a clearer picture—Abhimanyu Sood, a surgeon, is struggling in his marriage. He has a daughter who gets kidnapped, and the kidnappers demand ₹5 crores in ransom.

However, I doubt the story is as simple as it appears. There’s a scene where the lead character is holding a woman in his arms, and his phone’s caller ID reads “Jaan.” This suggests that there’s a mystery regarding whose daughter has been kidnapped—his or someone else’s? The kidnapping seems to be linked to Abhimanyu Sood’s past or a surgery he performed, as hinted in the trailer of Crazxy movie.

One thing is for sure—the trailer is highly gripping and brilliantly edited. It gives the impression that the film will feature thriller, drama, and even some comedy. That last scene with the loan call was an excellent touch!

Sohum Shah’s vision is clear—he is targeting mass audiences with class material. At the very least, he’s bringing fresh and original concepts to Bollywood, which is much needed. Unlike the constant wave of remakes (Deva and Baby John being recent examples of failures), Crazxy is something different.

Another interesting aspect of the trailer is that it focuses entirely on the lead character. There’s no sign of a heroine, a villain, or any supporting roles—it’s all about the protagonist’s unraveling mind. The cinematography deserves praise—every frame leaves you with a question. Why is he in the car? Whose voice is on the phone? Is his marriage troubled, or is he already divorced? Why did he have an accident? Why is everyone after him?

On top of that, the film seems far from normal—it includes surgical scenes, a middle finger shot, and a disturbing post-accident knee shot. That knee scene alone proves this movie is truly Crazxy!

Now, the only reason to watch this film is to find out the secret behind the extra “X” in Crazxy. The music selection, background score, cinematography, and acting have already impressed me in the trailer.

What did you think about the trailer of Crazxy? Let’s discuss it in the next review!
