Overview
I didn’t expect much from Sarzameen movie at first. I thought Sarzameen movie would be just another film on the India-Pakistan theme. But after watching, I was surprised to find that it’s not about that at all.
In the beginning, it might feel like a father-son emotional drama, similar to Animal movie. The story follows an army officer whose son goes missing for eight years. When the son returns, the father isn’t sure if he’s really his child or a terrorist. The entire plot revolves around this suspense.

What’s great is that there’s no unnecessary India-Pakistan drama. All the actors have played their roles well. Ibrahim Ali Khan, Saif Ali Khan’s son, performs his aggressive role convincingly.
Sarzameen’s first half is very straightforward. Prithviraj plays Officer Vijay Menon, who always puts the nation first—even above family. His performance is strong, and his Hindi is surprisingly clear with no South Indian accent.

The second half is where the movie really picks up. There are many twists and turns that genuinely shock you. The final twist is totally unexpected.
Kajol plays a very important role too. Don’t assume it’s just a mother’s role. It’s emotional and strong—similar to her role in the movie Maa, but even more important in Sarzameen movie.

Yes, Sarzameen movie has some flaws. Sometimes it feels a bit overdone. But overall, for pure entertainment, it keeps you hooked. There are no overdramatic scenes, no forced romance, and no cringe-worthy dialogues. The film starts with the main topic and ends with it, making time fly by.
Among recent OTT releases, Sarzameen is one of the better ones. It gives a mix of patriotism and family drama without any vulgarity or bad language. It’s safe to watch with family.
For me, Sarzameen movie was definitely a decent movie to watch at home.
