Overview

The story is about a forest where strange murders are happening. Bodies are found hanging from trees or trapped in insect-like webs. One thing is common in all the murders—every victim is seen dying by someone else. There’s always an eyewitness. And each one says the same name—Vanrachi. Who is Vanrachi?

Believe me, you don’t want to know. In simple words, she’s a ghost. Long ago, people used to worship her, and in return, she protected the forest from evil forces. Want an idea of how she looks? A scary face, and something like 12 horns on her head.

One murder after another keeps happening, so Inspector Rishi is called to solve the case. Here’s the big twist—according to Rishi, there’s no ghost at all. He believes the murders are being done by a person, using clever planning. But here’s a secret: Rishi constantly sees a ghost in his own house. Not in dreams—right in front of his eyes. On the roof, on the fan, on the bed—everywhere. He’s never alone. And yes, one of his eyes is fake. You probably didn’t notice that, right?

So, who is Vanrachi—God or Devil? Why has she come back after all these years? She’ll give Rishi the answer herself—when she appears right in front of him.

Usually, Indian cinema sticks to mystery, suspense, and thriller. But this Inspector Rishi web-series takes it a step further by adding horror. For the first time, a series has used the darkness of the forest in such a terrifying way. We usually get scared thinking there’s an animal out there. But what if it’s a ghost?

Oh man. Each of the 10 episodes has an ending that could give you a mini heart attack—just when you least expect it. The scary moments will dry your mouth. You’ll be confused whether to keep your eyes open or shut. Once you watch Inspector Rishi show, you can’t forget it. And you won’t be able to stop yourself from watching it either.

These kinds of urban legends, like Vanrachi, are scary enough just when heard as stories. Every village has a tale. And this show gives those tales a face, connecting them to murders, all set in the forest’s deep darkness. Whoever came up with this idea—brilliant work.

Whenever Vanrachi appears on screen, the scenes are top-level horror. You won’t even be able to move. You might not sleep at night either. And yes, the ending of Inspector Rishi show is very unpredictable. Whatever you thought throughout 9 episodes—episode 10 will turn it upside down. There’s one main story, and within it, 5–6 smaller stories too. Every character’s life is tangled like a spider’s web. The people shown on screen represent you and me. The audience is trapped in a hunter’s net. The hunter? Vanrachi.

I promise you, after watching this Inspector Rishi show’s climax, the next time you go into a forest, you’ll think twice before throwing a bottle or plucking a leaf. Yes, Inspector Rishi show is a bit slow, it takes time to reveal everything. But those who stick till the end won’t be disappointed. Horror fans, who usually look to Hollywood for a good scare—this time, an Indian ghost will scare you more than you imagined.

There are genuinely scary scenes. Don’t watch it alone at night! The story and the ending are very fun and unexpected—and yes, scary. A story within a story, behind a story, inside a story. Not just horror, the mystery is also really strong. And connecting everything with the forest gives a solid message—if you don’t listen to humans, you might have to listen to ghosts.

As for the negatives—the screenplay is a bit slow. 10 episodes feel a little stretched. Inspector Rishi show could’ve been wrapped up in 7 or 8 episodes. Also, the name “Vanrachi” comes up a lot, but I felt they could’ve used her more effectively. The love angle sort of overshadowed her a bit.

All in all, the show is really entertaining. Just a few scenes are extra scary, so watch wisely. Bring your family too. Get scared together—and scare others too.
