Overview
If you are familiar with the HIT movie series, you would know that HIT stands for Homicide Intervention Team—a special unit within the CID police department that works on crucial cases.
Let me tell you, with the growing number of cinematic universes in Indian cinema—like the Spy Universe, Loki Universe, Stree Universe, and Cop Universe—the HIT Universe is also expanding. With each new installment, the franchise is stepping up in terms of storytelling, action, and brutality.
Take the third case (HIT 3) movie as an example—it has pushed the limits of brutality even further. Scenes of bodies brutally hung from trees, heads being sliced open from the back, hands being mercilessly beaten with sticks, and, in the climax, a man being ripped apart—this takes things beyond what we’ve seen before. Even Marco would seem less intense in comparison!
And Nani—what a transformation! We have never seen him in such a fierce avatar in HIT 3, except maybe in Dasara movie. At 1 minute 23 seconds in the teaser, when he rips someone apart, I immediately got Rolex character vibes. From the teaser, the story seems to follow the same pattern as the first two movies—there’s a serial killer who is brutally murdering people. The case is assigned to Arjun Sarkar, played by Nani, who appears to be even more brutal than the killer himself.
For now, the identity of the serial killer remains a mystery in the teaser of HIT 3. But in the final shot, when we see Nani in a white tuxedo, it makes me wonder—could this be a double role situation or a split personality disorder? We’ll only find out once the movie releases.
Another interesting thing to watch for is whether all the actors from the previous HIT movies (including Rajkummar Rao from the Hindi remake) will come together in future installments. The past HIT films have been quite engaging, and this teaser, featuring Nani, makes things even more exciting.
This teaser could be called a smart-cut teaser—not only is it engaging, but it also leaves behind many unanswered questions. I’m genuinely excited to watch this movie, which is set to hit theaters on May 1st.
Lately, movies with extreme brutality seem to be in high demand, and HIT: The Third Case (HIT 3) is about to add another name to that list. I just hope it doesn’t disappoint!
