Overview

L2: Empuraan movie is the most expensive Malayalam film ever made. If you search on Google, you will see that the film’s budget is estimated to be between ₹100 to ₹180 crores. Isn’t that too much for a small industry film? Small? Really? Step outside—Malayalam cinema is no longer small; it has now become a major part of Indian cinema. In fact, L2: Empuraan movie has already crossed ₹50 crores in advance bookings.

L2: Empuraan movie film will surely earn a lot of money and break records in Malayalam cinema. The trailer itself guaranteed its success. But the real question is—does the film truly deserve all this success, or is it just a PR stunt? Are people booking tickets because they really want to watch it, or just because of the hype?

To be honest, L2: Empuraan movie will get two types of reviews. Some people will love it, while others might find it boring and even fall asleep during the movie. The reason is that L2: Empuraan movie is not just a mass entertainer like KGF, Pushpa, or RRR, where action and style matter more than the story. Instead, L2: Empuraan is a story-driven film with a hidden message. You have to use your brain to understand what is happening in the film.

Oh, and one important thing—before watching L2: Empuraan movie, make sure you watch Part 1 of this movie. Otherwise, you won’t understand the characters or the plot. Unlike some sequels that are made just for money, Empuraan directly continues the story from where Lucifer 1 ended.

Since L2: Empuraan movie is based on politics, there are chances of controversy. In the first 30 minutes, the filmmakers have shown some bold political situations that are related to real-life incidents, which might disturb some people. There are also some religious references to Hindu-Muslim issues, which could make people angry.

L2: Empuraan movie is about the dark web—the hidden side of the internet where all sorts of illegal activities take place. In that world, the most feared name is Abraham Qureshi. He is rumored to have connections with the Illuminati, a secret group that controls world events, political happenings, and high-profile murders. But his real identity is hidden from the world.

At the same time, in Kerala’s politics, the Chief Minister’s son is taking over and giving people new dreams. But above all names, one name dominates politics—Stephen. He is often compared to Lucifer, meaning the son of the devil.

What happens if people stop fearing Stephen? How will Kerala’s politics change? That is what Empuraan (Part 2) will show.

Compared to Lucifer (Part 1), L2: Empuraan movie’s story might feel slightly weaker. It is still intelligent, but it has fewer layers than Lucifer, which had many hidden details. In Empuraan, the letter “L” is used creatively in a few places to generate excitement, but overall, the suspense is not as strong as expected.

L2: Empuraan movie’s budget is 4-5 times bigger than Lucifer (Part 1), and it clearly shows. The film has an international feel, and the huge budget is justified because the story has an international connection.

One of the best moments in the film is Mohanlal’s entry. The location, visuals, and background music in that scene take Indian cinema to the next level. Just like how fans wanted to see the best version of Salman Khan in Sikandar, director Prithviraj has done this for Mohanlal in L2: Empuraan movie. He is a huge fan of Mohanlal, and every scene in the film feels like a tribute to him.

This level of presentation from Malayalam cinema was unexpected. If this is just the beginning, then other film industries should be worried.

Unlike other films that focus only on the lead actor, L2: Empuraan movie gives equal importance to all characters. Imagine if Bollywood ever made a 3-hour film where the lead actor enters after 1 hour! That’s exactly what happens here—before Mohanlal enters, all other characters are properly introduced.

But once Mohanlal enters and the forest action scene begins, everything else seems less important. He is a one-man army—his eyes alone are enough to act!

L2: Empuraan movie does have some weaknesses. There is no strong villain, so Mohanlal’s character doesn’t have a real challenge. He just comes, does his part, and leaves. They did an amazing job presenting Abhimanyu Singh, one of the most underrated villains in Hindi cinema, but they didn’t create a single scene where he actually challenges Lucifer.

Some characters were also ignored and not used properly. Some actors gave great performances but got very little screen time. The drug cartel subplot had potential, and they could have introduced a major villain like Rolex in Vikram movie, but they ended it too easily. There were no major surprises, no cameos, and nothing iconic. Just one face reveal could have made L2: Empuraan movie an unforgettable film.

But there are still some special moments where Prithviraj, as a director, shows great creativity, teasing the story for Part 3.

The more you invest your brain in L2: Empuraan movie, the more entertaining it becomes. But if you don’t connect with it early on, you might find it boring.

What makes L2: Empuraan movie special is its large scale, strong character development, and bold themes that take risks. Mohanlal’s presence is a major highlight of the film.

However, compared to Lucifer (Part 1), the story is not as strong. Some characters had the potential to challenge Lucifer’s evil side, but they were sidelined. Also, a cameo could have made the film more iconic, but they missed that opportunity.

L2: Empuraan movie is just the beginning—other industries should be scared. If this film can collect ₹50 crore in advance, imagine what will happen when an even better film comes out. No record will be safe.

The choice is yours. If you enjoy intelligent, well-made cinema, book your tickets. But if you just want an easy, mindless movie, then skip it.
