Overview

The story follows a newlywed couple whose first night takes an unexpected turn. They get caught up in a strange situation where they have to find someone named Charlie, and a few people are after them for the same reason.

Now, who is Charlie and why he’s important—that’s something you’ll understand only by watching this Dhoom Dhaam movie. But after a long time, I watched a movie that I genuinely enjoyed.

Pratik Gandhi plays Veer, a shy and introverted guy, while Yami Gautam plays Koyal, who is the complete opposite—an extrovert, bold, and fearless, even using abusive language casually. When both of them get trapped in this situation, two things happen in parallel—first, they try to understand each other since theirs is an arranged marriage, and second, they try to escape the mess they’re caught in. The way their chemistry develops because of this situation is really entertaining to watch.

Yes, at times, it might feel a bit forced, but both actors handle it so well with their performances that it doesn’t feel unnatural. Pratik Gandhi’s comic timing and acting are outstanding. His performance might even remind you of his character from Madgaon Express movie.

There’s a bachelor party scene in this Dhoom Dhaam movie, which is literally one of the highlights—you have to watch Pratik Gandhi’s dance in that scene!

Meanwhile, the Dhoom Dhaam movie also touches on the struggles of independent women in a humorous way. It questions why women often have to lie or fight for their freedom. There’s a monologue by Yami Gautam, lasting about two to three minutes, which was shot in a single take. It truly showcases her acting talent, and Netflix has even uploaded that monologue separately on their channel. Through that monologue, the movie also delivers a subtle message for men, which was a good attempt—though it did feel a bit forced.

One of the best parts of the movie is the suspense—it keeps the audience guessing. The characters themselves don’t fully understand the situation they’re caught in, and even the audience only finds out the complete truth at the very end, making for a satisfying conclusion.

As for content, there are a few mild cuss words, which have become quite common these days, but there are no vulgar or explicit scenes. So, if you’re okay with some strong language, you can watch this Dhoom Dhaam movie with family.

Overall, Dhoom Dhaam movie is fun to watch. I wouldn’t call it great, but it’s definitely a good entertainer.
