It’s been quite a while since we’ve had a proper Bollywood film, because most of them nowadays try to be something else. Even Bollywood filmmakers seem more interested in South Indian cinema than their own style. Varun and Janhvi’s Comeback Movie Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari movie is going to release in the theatre on 2nd October. In the middle of this, the man who is considered the face of Bollywood has returned. Karan Johar with Dharma Productions has come up with a long, grand trailer for Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari, almost as long as the film’s title itself. As expected, the trailer reveals nearly the entire story.

Overview
First, it shows Sunny’s true love, then introduces Tulsi Kumari, and clearly explains why they end up together. There’s a bit of romance, a touch of glamour, comedy that swings between family-safe and double-meaning jokes, and even a mention of Baahubali. You can already guess what Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari film will be like.
The worry is if Varun and Janhvi fall for each other in the end—Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari movie will become predictable and spoil the fun. Still, the director of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania knows that if the emotions work, the story doesn’t matter much because tickets will sell anyway.

Varun Dhawan’s comedy timing, though underrated, is excellent and gives a vibe similar to Akshay Kumar. His humor is the backbone of the trailer. Even a silly line like Pak Chik Pak Raja Babu adds a memorable touch. If anyone deserves blame, it’s the writer, not Varun. His screen presence is impressive, and the festive-style background song, with Khesari Lal Yadav’s contribution, lifts the Bollywood feel perfectly.

Janhvi Kapoor’s introduction might divide opinions. Some people will find faults, while her fans might see her as cheerful. She looks good in the trailer, and her role seems important, possibly leading to a love triangle. The only concern is whether the audience will connect with her performance. Her acting often ends up being debated—criticize her and it’s an issue, don’t criticize her and it’s still an issue. Maybe it’s best to just enjoy her presence without overthinking.

The trailer of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari movie seems unfair to other actors, though. It focuses heavily on Varun and Janhvi, while Sanya Malhotra and Rohit appear less. If shown more, they could have brought freshness and energy, as both look strong and even seem to compete with the leads rather than just supporting them. Not showing them much could be an attempt to hide a twist for theaters, but it also feels like wasted talent.

Another challenge is the release date, October 2nd, which clashes with Kantara: Chapter One. And it’s almost certain that Kantara will have a much more original storyline. The only thing that can save Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari movie is the typical Bollywood-loving audience, and for that, some really catchy romantic songs will be needed, which might release soon.
Overall, the trailer of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari feels more like a short film. It’s not very unique or different, but it isn’t bad either. Varun brings full energy, Janhvi seems a bit off, while Sanya and Rohit are the surprising sparks. The real question is—will people choose Kantara: Chapter One or Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari?
