Overview

Himmat Singh is facing off against a new villain called “The Collector”—a man who keeps anything he likes. That’s why he’s called the Collector. His past story is also revealed in this season, which might be the most interesting part: how a small child grew up to become the nation’s biggest enemy.

Director Neeraj Pandey has used his sharp mind again. But this time, what the Collector has stolen isn’t any expensive item—it’s a person, someone so important he’s called the Prime Minister’s right hand. He’s a genius scientist, someone you can call the Newton of the computer world. Whether it’s nuclear power, RBI’s treasure, or secret political data on the dark web—everything is stored in his mind.

And how smart is he? He gave a one-hour speech at a live event, but when a reporter asked a question, another man stepped out from behind the curtain—because what everyone saw until then was his AI, his artificial intelligence. One man, appearing in two places at the same time. This brilliant mind is exactly what the supervillain Collector wants.

Now, Himmat Singh versus the Collector will continue across all seven episodes. The scary part is, if the computer genius’s brain is unlocked, the entire country’s digital wealth could be emptied in just ten minutes. But from Delhi, almost 5,000 km away from Europe, Himmat Singh has to protect both the country and his home. His daughter, known from the web series Kota Factory, finds out a dangerous secret. Now, the question is, what will the poor family man do? Will he fight the enemy, or will he push his family away?

For the first time, you’ll see sweat on Himmat Singh’s forehead. Special Ops 2 is different because it adds a twist of AI to the human vs human battle. The fight happens more in the digital world than with fists. That’s why this season may not appeal to every type of audience. There’s a chance you might feel bored after two or three episodes. But to balance that, they’ve added a new character who reminds you of a classic thriller like The Wednesday. This character is introduced by Himmat Singh himself, who says, “He is the father of us all.”

This time, Himmat Singh is solving three to four missions at once—catching a political traitor, rescuing the scientist, avenging his officer, and saving the nation from his own mentor. So even if each episode stretches beyond an hour, the pace stays fast because multiple storylines run at the same time. You won’t feel the time passing.

But the downside is, as long as the camera stays on Kay Kay Menon, the scenes are fiery and powerful—you might even need a fire extinguisher. His dialogue delivery and screen presence are incredible. But the moment the camera moves away from him, the other actors don’t give the same feeling. Things start to feel dull.

The Collector’s character was strong, but he had very little screen time, and was taken down too easily in the end. The ending didn’t give the powerful impact that the first episode promised. It felt like everything got resolved too simply in the seventh episode. Honestly, the first season felt better to me. Its finale was intense and left you scared for Himmat Singh. That feeling was missing this time.

The attempt to turn this into a family man story felt a bit weak. The emotional scenes didn’t really impact the story and could be skipped. Still, Himmat Singh’s character is solid, with strong acting. His challenge with AI and the villain’s backstory are presented well. On the downside, the important characters were not used to their full potential.

Some extra characters felt unnecessary. It’s not the best show ever, but it doesn’t feel like a waste of six hours either. Thanks to Kay Kay Menon’s performance, I can confidently say it’s worth watching.
