Pankaj Tripathi's Criminal Justice Season 4 Review

Have you ever noticed how long filmmakers take to release a sequel or the next part of a movie? By the time the second or third part is released, people grow from their 20s into their 30s, but still don’t get to see the full story. On the other hand, web series creators are faster—they release a new season almost every year. That’s why Criminal Justice Season 4 was released before anyone even expected it.

Overview

Do you remember this show? It’s the courtroom drama where there’s a murder, a few suspects, and the audience has to guess who the real killer is. The suspense keeps building until the very end. You don’t know who to doubt or who to feel sorry for. The more you think about it, the more confused you get.

Most shows focus on catching the killer. Criminal Justice Season 4 is different because it’s about saving an innocent person. That’s why the word “justice” is in the title. Many people agree that Season 1 was the best, mainly because it was a remake of an English show, so there was less room for error. After that, it turned into a franchise. They started mixing suspense with comedy and writing original stories.

Pankaj Tripathi is back as the lead, and he’s brought along some new actors in a very interesting but disturbing case. Let’s start thinking. This time, the case is a bit high-level — there’s been a murder in the house of the city’s top doctor. And the body is found in the doctor’s arms. There’s a dead body, blood, and only one other person in the room. Can a murder case be any simpler — when the victim dies in front of the accused?

Actually, the dead body is of the doctor’s girlfriend, who worked as a nurse at the hospital and also helped take care of the doctor’s daughter at home. The daughter has a strange condition — she’s afraid to make eye contact and trusts only a few people. I think this character is the key to the whole story.

The murder seems to have happened due to a deep cut in the throat, which caused a lot of bleeding. The doctor is shocked because the woman he loved died in his arms — and despite being a doctor, he couldn’t save her. But the weird part is that everything happened in just 15 minutes. The doctor came home at 7:26, and the housemaid screamed after seeing the scene at 7:40.

Before your brain starts racing, here’s the biggest twist — who lives directly across from the doctor’s house? His wife, who’s been living separately for 15 months. She stays there just so she can still be close to her daughter. You’ve probably seen many movies about love triangles. But this story is different because the doctor’s wife comes forward to save him from being accused of his girlfriend’s murder. This emotional turn makes Madhav Mishra (the lawyer) feel uneasy. For the first time, he wonders — is he supporting the wrong person? Is he helping a real killer?

Now for the bad news for Criminal Justice Season 4 — only three episodes have been released so far. So you’ll start watching, but won’t get to see the ending just yet. Whoever thought of this release plan must be a total fool. If Hotstar wants to save its shows, the first step should be to fire that person. The suspense was building so well. The murder mystery was slowly turning into a family drama. A courtroom showdown was about to happen — and suddenly, the episode ended.

Now they’ll release one episode per week, and we’ll reach the climax of Criminal Justice Season 4 by July. I can’t force you to watch it with me because the full season isn’t out yet. It’s probably better to wait and binge all episodes together once they’re released.

But there’s one thing that might make you watch Criminal Justice Season 4 anyway — Pankaj Tripathi. He’s doing an amazing job. We don’t get to see him often, but no one else acts like him. Other actors in the show are doing standard acting — some roles are written to create suspicion, while others are so flat you can’t tell if they’re the villain or hero.

Now how will this story end? Will it test your brain or turn into just another regular TV serial? We’ll know only after a month. So yes, you’ll have to wait. But if you’re free now, you can finish the three episodes in two hours. This Criminal Justice Season 4 show isn’t bad — just incomplete, which makes it feel disappointing. Rest is up to you.
